Wanda June Campbell Speakman April 22, 1930 - August 6, 2022

Wanda Speakman passed away peacefully in Gresham, Oregon on August 6, 2022. Wanda was born on April 22, 1930 in Snomac, OK to Dixie Lee Campbell and Melvin Roy Campbell. She lived in Avondale, Arizona during her elementary school years. Her family later moved to Oregon and Wanda graduated from Gresham High School in 1949.

The majority of Wanda’s work life was in the banking industry. She worked as a teller at Albuquerque National Bank and then after moving with Lisa to Oregon in 1969, she worked as a teller for U.S. Bank. Wanda retired twice from the bank. She first retired in the early 1990s and then went back to work part time to save for the trip of a lifetime. In 1996, mom and a group of fellow Christians traveled to Israel. She often said a highlight of the trip and of her life was being baptized in the Jordan River where Jesus was baptized.

After her retirement, Wanda enjoyed spending time with her two grandchildren and many friends. Wanda is survived by her daughter, Lisa Pelzer, her granddaughter, Cara Davidson (Mitchell), nieces, MaryAnn Campbell Smith (Steve) and Linda Sue Campbell Drell (Eliot) and nephews, Fred Campbell (Karen), Jimmie Campbell (Sheila), and Mike Campbell (Cindy). She was predeceased by her parents, her brother, Roy Campbell, her nephew, David Campbell and her grandson, Brandon Pelzer.

A private burial was held at Gresham Pioneer Cemetery. No memorial service is planned at this time. Those wishing to honor Wanda are invited to make a donation to a church ministry or charity of their choice.

The family sends their special thanks to the staff at Powell Valley Living who kindly cared for Wanda the last few months of her life.
A special thank you is also extended to the nurses at Portland Adventist Hospice Care, especially nurse Kimberly, who prayed and sang hymns to Wanda.

Wanda will be forever loved and missed by her family who are grateful she is with her Savior, Jesus Christ, whom she loved so deeply!
