Sharon Berg July 18, 1948 - September 10, 2023

Sharon Ann Berg was born on July 18, 1948 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri to Willie and Yvonne Shipman.  She was the third of four girls in her family, two of which died in infancy. After high school, she completed two years of college with an associates degree in English.

She worked with her sister Rose for 3 years with a planning commission, and then followed her sister in working for Bible Truth Publishers from 1973 until 2005.  Sharon and Rose loved to sing in harmony and it brought them joy to share their gifts of song at many weddings.

In September of 2005 she married Gregory Berg, moving out to Gresham, Oregon to start a new life together. They returned nearly every year in the late Summer to do volunteer work at Bible Truth Publishers, staying in Chicago until the snow would fly. They shared a mutual love of photography and road trips, and Sharon never said no to an opportunity to have high tea.

Her battle with cancer began in 1989 and was in remission until 2017 when back pain revealed that cancer had returned in her bones.

Sharon amazed all who knew her with her ability to bounce back from round after round of setbacks from cancer as well as a significant stroke. After several rounds staying in the hospital in the summer of 2023 as a result of side effects of chemotherapy and several infections, her appetite and strength were gone.  Surrounded by her family, she peacefully went home to be with her Jesus on September 10, 2023 at 75 years of age.

Sharon is survived by her husband Gregory Berg, sister Rose Hemstrom (and husband Paul), sons Timothy (and wife, Wendy) and David (and wife Chastidy), daughters Joanna Sapp (and husband, Jeff) and Susanna Coleman (and husband Steve) as well as twelve grandchildren.
