Oscar Theodore Froese went home to be with the Lord on January 13, 2020 at Gresham, Oregon. He was born on July 6, 1921 in Walla Walla, Washington. The Bible was read regularly in his home, and while young he put his trust in the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior. His faith was a very important part of his life.
Upon completion of high school Oscar received training as a telegraph operator and went to work for the Southern Pacific Railroad. He was a station agent at various places in the Willamette valley until 1944, when he enlisted in the Navy. He served in the Pacific as a radioman on the cruiser USS San Diego.
Upon discharge he returned to the railroad as station agent at Sheridan, Oregon, marrying Ida Marie Morgan in Gresham on April 21, 1951. Shortly thereafter they moved to Portland, where Oscar began a long career in medical equipment sales. They have lived in Gresham since 1961.
He is survived by his wife and his sons, Terrance M. and James O. Froese.
Interment will be at Willamette National Cemetery on February 7 at 10 am. A memorial service will be held at 11 am the following day at Gospel Meeting Room, 680 NE Division St., Gresham, OR
