Our family mourns the loss of Michael Jack O’Hara. He was born October 18, 1952, to Michael and Martha O’Hara. He is survived by sisters, Betty Ann Lusby and Jackie Connell. He married Marsha D. Eklund the love of his life nearly 50 years ago, daughter of Don and Marie Eklund. They made their home together in Boring, Oregon where they built a home and brought three wonderful sons into this world, Jason, Jeremy and Micah.
Michael started his career as a home builder. He built several homes in the Boring area, including their own. Michael and Marsha O’Hara have since owned and operated O’Hara’s Manor for 38 years, a successful residential care home facility in Gresham, Oregon ran by the family. Michael O’Hara’s favorite accomplishment was being a husband, father and grandfather. He loved planning family camping trips with his seven grandchildren, sons and daughters-in-law Nita and Marie and bulldogs. The O’Hara family loved spending time at car shows, riding Harleys, fishing, water sports, driving ATVs at the sand dunes, and cooking. Michael, Marsha and son Jeremy spent much of their weekend time at their homes at Rockaway Beach and LaPine. Most of our favorite memories have been spent there.
Grandchildren Shaylee, Mason, Jace, Michael, Natalee, Mitchell and Hollee O’Hara continue in his legacy.
A private service for immediate family to honor the man we all loved so much will be held. The family suggest contributions to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
