Marion L. Kirkham

March 6, 1922-November 1, 2021

Marion Kirkham passed peacefully from pneumonia November 1, 2021 at 99 years young. He was raised in Corbett, Oregon, living in the same home from the time he was 5 years old. He was an officer in the US Army Air Corps WWII training pilots. Due to his brother Virgil’s plane crash and loss of life in WWII, he had strong connections and relationships with the people of Czech Republic. He participated in the Liberation Festival in Pilsen for many years. He married Ethel Cowing June 5, 1948 and they were married 60 years. He was a farmer, logger and owned and operated Kaso Plastics. In retirement he built their “house on the hill”. He had a strong work ethic and lived with a positive attitude (with his thumbs up and saying “My hobby is living”!). After Marion married Vivian Gomez December 26, 2010, they enjoyed traveling to Europe and working outdoors together.

Marion was predeceased by Ethel (2008) and son-in-law Loren (2018). Survivors include his wife, Vivian (married 2010-present); children Marilyn (Doug), Charles (Barbara) and Irene; 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Private interment will occur and a celebration of life will be in the spring with a notice to follow. Donations in Marion’s honor may be made to the Crown Point Country Museum in care of the Crown Point Country Historical Society.
