Margaret Jane Heater Fletcher August 18, 1960 - January 16, 2022

Margie, as she was known, was born in Lancaster, CA, to David & Jean (deceased) Heater. She lived in Lancaster, then Newport, OR (Newport High, class of 1978), before moving to Bakersfield, CA, and then to the Portland metro area. She worked as a waitress and bartender, while earning an associates degree from MHCC. She earned a degree in education from Western Oregon State College, and taught in preschools. She married Michael Fletcher on March 20, 1993. She was known as his “One & Only”. They had two sons, the joys of her life, Micah David-Cole & Mitchel Alan. She passed away, after a lengthy illness, surrounded by many family members.

Margie loved anything miniature or intricate. She loved crafting, including crystals, making delicate jewelry, cards, and exquisite diorama eggs, a skill taught to her by her great Aunt Florence. She loved flowers; she used to tend to them tenderly. She had a passion for old TV shows and sitcoms. They made her laugh!

Margie & Mike traveled frequently to the Oregon Coast; she loved the beach! Astoria, Seaside and Newport were favorites. The family also enjoyed exploring central Oregon, and made annual treks to Idaho to pan for gold on family property!

Besides her husband and two sons, Margie is survived by her father, David & his wife, Janis, and Margie’s mother-in-law, Lola; six siblings: David, Robert, Jessica, Jamie, Thomas & Julianne, and numerous cousins, aunts & uncles, nieces & nephews. She was loved!
