Laurel was the cherished wife of the late T. Duane Ostgarden. Their love spanned over six decades, a testament to their unwavering commitment and affection. Together, they built a life that was a wellspring of love for their children and grandchildren, whose lives were deeply touched by her warmth, wisdom, and boundless love. She was a dedicated educator in Portland’s public schools, inspiring countless students. Laurel found great joy in the outdoors and was a skilled seamstress. Devoted to her faith, Laurel served at Peace Lutheran Church in North Portland with deep reverence. Laurel will be remembered as a generous soul, always ready to lend a hand or sympathetic ear to those in need.
