Ida Marie was born in McMinnville, Oregon, to Hector and Ida Morgan. During WWII, the family moved to a farm near Boring, Oregon, where she graduated from Sandy High School. Ida Marie married Oscar Froese, of Walla Walla, Washington on April 21, 1951. They made Sheridan, Oregon their first home and then moved to Portland where sons Terry and Jim were born. In 1963 they relocated to Gresham.
Ida Marie loved to look good. She valued nice clothes. Even during her recent illnesses, a trip to the hair salon always made her day. She was a superb cook. Prepared holiday feasts second to none. She enjoyed flowers and working in the yard. Her Christian fellowship was a large part of Ida Marie’s life. She faithfully attended, and put into diligent practice her gift of hospitality.
If you knew Ida Marie, you likely received birthday and holiday greeting cards with personal, loving comments added in her beautiful handwriting. These were posted hither and yon throughout the US and Canada. Hallmark will never be the same without her.
Two younger brothers, Daniel and David, predeceased Ida Marie, and also Oscar, her husband of nearly 69 years. She is survived by her two sons, Terry and Jim, and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
A graveside memorial for family and friends will be August 9, 2021 at 10:00 am at Willamette National Cemetery, 8098 SE 112th Ave., Portland, OR 97266.
