Gloria Dawn Wilcox, 81, died Friday, March 24th, 2023, with her family by her side.
Gloria was born on February 23, 1942 in Hood River, Oregon, to Donald & Neola Walker. She grew up in Parkdale, OR, and graduated from Wy’East High in Odell. In the first grade she met Gary, who lived next door with only one house between them. They were married on November 30, 1961, and had three children: Kim, Lisa, and Chris.
After moving the family to Rockwood, Oregon in 1967, Gloria was a teacher’s aide before getting her real estate license and working in the industry for many years until disability retirement. She was diagnosed with MS at 30 years old.
Gloria enjoyed playing tennis, soccer, and bowling in her youth. She loved playing cards with friends and family, and was a cherished socializer at Giuseppe’s Pizza, Cascade Athletic Club where she was one of the original members, and her “Garden Club” with childhood friends. Gloria especially enjoyed travel and took many opportunities to fly, cruise, and roadtrip with close friends and family, with Hawaii being her favorite.
Gloria is survived by her husband of 61 years, Gary; 3 children Kim, Lisa, and Chris; brother Pat; 3 sibling-in-laws; 4 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 7 nieces and nephews; and good friends. She was proceeded in death by her parents Donald and Neola, as well as her sister Joy, and nephew Jay.
Known for her positive, care-free personality, and a glowing presence and smile, Gloria will be greatly missed.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1pm on Friday, April 21st at Gresham Memorial Chapel, 257 SE Roberts, Gresham, OR 97080.

March 29, 2023 at 12:38 pmWe didn’t meet Gloria until a few years ago, but found her to be a happy and friendly lady. We visited with her at parties held at daughter (Kim) and son-in-law (Mark’s) home right next door. It was fun to chat with her (in the driveway) as she was coming to, or leaving the Goin’s home. WE wish we would have met her sooner, but will remember her smiles and laughter. We pray for comfort and peace for the family in the days and weeks to come.

March 30, 2023 at 8:16 pmFor Gloria’s family…our deepest sympathy…we were children together so long ago when our parents were friends. We spent many good times and lots of weekends camping or just visiting in those early years and have great memories. Gloria and Joy were a loved part of our lives.
