A wonderful, loving husband and father, Glenn Nado passed away peacefully at home in Fairview on December 28, 2020 at the age of 91.
Glenn was born in Roslyn, South Dakota to George and Emma Nado. After moving to Oregon in the late 1930s, he attended Silverton High School where he was an all-around star athlete. After graduation in 1947, Glenn started a sales career at J. C. Penny.
In 1948, Glenn met and fell in love with Nellie Johnson. They married August 8, 1948 and moved to Portland in 1950 where they raised their five children. Glenn retired from J. C. Penney in 1984 and subsequently worked security for several years at the Multnomah County central library. The couple moved to Fairview in 1997. They enjoyed traveling together and spending time with their grandchildren.
Glenn is survived by his sons Robert Nado (Sandra) and Gregory Nado (Marcia, deceased), daughters Teresa O’Brien (David) and Michelle Mishler (Garland), as well as ten grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by Nellie Nado, his spouse for 71 years, and son Steven Nado.
A memorial mass will be held at a later date. Those wishing to memorialize Glenn are encouraged to contribute in his name to the American Lung Association.
