Doloras Kennen September 14, 1935 - August 30, 2020

Doloras Jean Kennen, 84, of Portland, OR passed away peacefully Sunday afternoon on August 30th, 2020 surrounded by her family. Doloras was born September 14, 1935 in La Grande, OR to Treva and Ollie Williams.  She graduated from Hermiston High school in 1953. Doloras was the secretary for the Presbyterian Church and sang in the choir in The Dalles, OR, then went on to have a career in the insurance industry in Portland, OR.

Doloras loved painting, going to plays, films, books, music of all kinds, spending time with family and friends, and traveling the world with her husband of 44 years, Gary Kennen. Their favorite place to travel was Europe and they especially enjoyed Italy, Spain, Scotland, and Ireland. In retirement they lived in rural Clackamas County, Tucson, AZ, and Portland, OR.

Doloras is survived by her husband Gary Kennen, 4 children, 3 step children, 14 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. She taught her children the value of hard work, to be kind to others, compassion, honesty, to have a positive outlook on life, and to be the best they could be. If one word could describe a person that word would be “positive” for Doloras, and she found a way to be just that every day.

Doloras will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by those she loved and those who loved her.

A celebration of life will be held for close family at the Gresham Memorial Chapel.

Family suggests donations to the OHSU Foundation research in lieu of flowers.

A Celebration of Life service for Doloras will be held at Gresham Memorial Chapel on Sunday, September 27, 2020 at 10:00am.
