David Roger Rich passed away Thursday, July 16th about 6pm in Oregon City, OR at the age of 85. Dave was born in Salem, OR on June 17th, 1941. He joined the Navy right out of high school, little did he know that would lead to the meeting of his wife, Ellen Rich. Six weeks later, they were married on May 12th, 1962 and then they drove from New Jersey to Oregon.
David was a loving husband, devoted father, and adoring grandfather. Dave was a loyal friend and always there for anyone who needed something. He was the happiest when making people laugh, as a clown, jokester, entertainer of anything that would make people laugh and enjoy the moment. His yard was always a presentation. His weekends were best out of town enjoying the outdoors; at the beach with friends, camping with family or Good Sam. Several years of fishing, water skiing, dirt motorcycles making new trails that so many enjoy today. He was very thankful of the wonderful friends throughout his life. He was a special man, with a great smile. He will be greatly missed.
Dave is survived his daughters; Donna husband Karl, Penny husband Mike: Grandchildren, Kevin, Aaron wife Kelsey and Katie; Great Grandchildren, Savanna, Aubrey, Lucas, Henry and Grayson.
The military honors service will be Wednesday, July 29th at 1pm at Willamette National followed by a witness placement.
