Cynthia “Cindy” Perdue August 25, 1950 - January 28, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cindy Perdue, a beloved mom, grandma, sister, and friend. Cindy was born on August 25, 1950 and sadly departed this world on January 28, 2024 in her Gresham home. Cindy was 73.

Cindy was born in Wayne, Nebraska to June and Leonard “Shorty” Beckley. Being a Beckley was a great source of pride as she was one of 8 children. In 1956, the Beckleys moved to Gresham where they would establish a home and community. Cindy was a proud graduate of Gresham High School (1968) and considered herself a life-long Gopher.

In 1976, Cindy began her career at Omark Industries in the chain manufacturing department. Cindy took great pride in her work and enjoyed not only the challenge it gave her but the many friends she made throughout her years in the industry. She retired as a Quality Specialist from Oregon Cutting Systems in 2006. After her retirement, Cindy volunteered in her daughter’s elementary school classroom, where she enjoyed building relationships with the students and staff.

Cindy was a friend to many and was always checking in and taking care of those around her. She loved being with people and looked forward to attending any and all family and holiday events. She could not get enough of her kids, grandkids, and extended family. Cindy filled her days attending her grandchildren’s special events including baseball games, cheer competitions, ballet recitals, basketball games and many theater productions. She was her grandchildren’s #1 superfan.

Cindy is survived by her daughters Jennifer Lovely and Angela Long, sons-in-law Mike Lovely and Andy Long, and her beloved grandchildren Mitchell and his wife Ashleigh, Sarah, Paige, Carson, Reese and Avery. She is also survived by her six siblings and their spouses: brother Gordon and Joyce Beckley, sister Peggy and Jerry Johansen, brother Steve and Vicki Beckley, sister Ann and Lyle Powell, brother Chuck and Connie Beckley, and brother Tom and Kim Beckley. In addition to her immediate family, Cindy leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who cherished her presence in their lives. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Richard Beckley.

Donations can be made in Cindy’s name to the Gresham-Barlow Education Foundation at gbefkids.org or P.O. Box 3406 Gresham, OR 97030. Please join us for a memorial service celebrating her life on March 1, 2024 at 2pm at Gresham Memorial Chapel 257 SE Roberts Ave, Gresham.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, February 4, 2024, from 1-5p.m. at Gresham Memorial Chapel.  A memorial service will be held on Friday, Mar. 1, 2024, at Gresham Memorial Chapel

Cindy helped us to be better workers at Omark/Blount. I’ll miss our friendly Eagle v Gopher friendly rivalry and debates. A truly honest and wonderful person. And a little bit like a big sister to me that I’ll miss the most.
