Christine Skinner October 6, 1953 - July 4, 2021

Christine Rose Skinner (née Munsinger) passed away Sunday, July 4th at 4:45 am in Portland, OR at the age of 67. Chris is survived by her husband, Sam Skinner; children, Andrew (JoEllen) Skinner and Maureen (Casey) Houck; grandchildren, Maisie & Mina Skinner and Teagan & Kinley Houck; mother, Rose Munsinger (née Perich); sister, Rosemary (Tim) Chirgwin; and nieces, Kathleen (Rich) Campbell & Theresa (Greg) Rodocker. She is preceded in death by her father, Keith Munsinger. Chris was born in Omaha, Nebraska October 6, 1953 to Keith and Rose Munsinger. The family moved to Portland in 1956 where they were soon joined by her sister Rosemary. She graduated from La Salle High school in 1971 and started college at Portland State where she met Sam Skinner in 1971. The two would marry in 1974 and go on to welcome their children Andrew in 1978 and Maureen in 1983. Chris enjoyed traveling and adored her family. She visited her out of state grandchildren often, cheering on their YouTube and Instagram adventures. From the moment her local grandchildren were born she rarely let more than a few days go by without seeing them. She was an avid traveler and took great pleasure in planning her next adventure. As soon as she returned home she couldn’t wait to sink her teeth into planning her next trip. Her close group of friends and travel companions was one of her greatest joys and she spent many a happy vacation in their company. A private memorial service will be held at St. Henry’s church. A reception will follow at Gresham Memorial Mortuary. Flowers and condolences may be offered at Gresham Memorial Chapel. www.greshamfuneral.com.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in her name to the American Stroke Association at https://www.stroke.org/ .

Being part of Sams Arkansas family, we didn’t have the opportunity to know Christine in very close interaction. But, the brief time we were to spend with her revealed her to be a woman of character and interesting to engage. She was kind and truly a gracious lady. Our condolences and thoughts remain with you. She is gone much too soon. Phillip and Marcheta Goodin.

I am so sad to hear of Christine’s passing. She worked for me at Legacy for many years. The thing I remember most about her was how much she loved her family and her dedication to spending time with her grandchildren. I am so sorry for.your loss.
