“Bobbi” F. Yvonne Ritschard March 16, 1930 - May 12, 2024

Bobbi radiated a charisma that made people love her the moment they met her. She had a smile that lit up the room and made everyone feel welcome and loved. She was very social and thoroughly enjoyed being with others as much as they enjoyed being with her.  She was a trusted confidant and was easy to talk to and had a hearty and frequent laugh.  She delighted in social and active events. She was an avid golfer, loved to travel, make beautiful flower arrangements, and enjoyed gardening, boating, water skiing, and dancing.

Bobbi was a fashion icon, always impeccably dressed. Her beauty was outwardly visible but also came from within. She had such kindness and grace, was poised, calm, and accepting.

When she was an 8th grader in Gordon Russell’s (he later became a principal and Superintendent of the Gresham Grade School District) class, he gave her the nickname of Bobbi that stuck for the rest of her life.  Bobbi graduated from Gresham High School in 1949. She then went to Portland Beauty School and worked as a beautician from 1950-1953. She used those skills 1967-1971 as hairdresser for the Miss Gresham Scholarship program and chaperoned them to the Miss Oregon pageants.  She went to work for the school district in Gresham, as an assistant and later as head secretary for North Gresham and West Gresham Grade Schools. The staffs there treasured her leadership, guidance, support, and friendship.

Bobbi and her beloved life partner of the last 17 years, Chuck Coulter, loved RVing together and were snowbirds between Portland and Yuma, AZ for several years. When they moved back into Gresham, she felt like she was finally back home again. She really loved Gresham. They also really enjoyed getaways to Newport and watching the fishing boats come into the bay.

Bobbi was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Florence Holcombe of whom she was born in WaKeeney, Kansas, as well as Robert Ritschard, her husband and father to her daughters.  Bobbi is survived by her daughters Debbie Preston (Clint) and Trudy Ritschard, grandchildren Cheryl Eki (Darren) and Grant Putnam (Marion), as well as several great grandchildren and one great great grandson. She also leaves behind Chuck Coulter and his children Jeff Coulter (Jeanette), Cathy Boothman (Rick), and their extended family. She will be missed by all.

Her memorial services will be held on Thursday, June 6, at 2 PM at Gresham Memorial Chapel, located at 257 SE Roberts in Gresham, OR.

A memorial service for Bobbi will be held Thursday, June 6, 2024 at 2:00p.m. at Gresham Memorial Chapel.
