Bethel “June” (Bates) (Law) Kirby of Springdale passed away on October 17, 2023 after a short illness. She was ninety-eight years old.
June was born on February 4, 1925 to Harley and Hazel Bates in Corbett, Oregon. After June graduated from Corbett High School in 1943, she moved to Portland to work for Fuller Paint Company, where she met her husband, Ridge Law. They were married in 1945 and were married for fifty-two years before Ridge’s passing in 1997. In 1999, June married Floyd Kirby of Corbett. They were married thirteen years until Floyd passed away in 2012.
June was predeceased by her parents, a sister and three brothers, a nephew, and many other loved ones. She is survived by son Gary (and Bev) Law of Springdale, daughter Lynne (and Ron) of Springfield, and daughter Becky (and Kevin) of Myrtle Creek, as well as nine grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
There will be a viewing at Gresham Memorial Chapel on November 6 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. The memorial service will be held at the Corbett Community Church on November 7 at 2:00 p.m.
