A celebration of Life will be held for Barbara Marie Goertz at the Corbett Community Church on Friday, July 21 2023, at 1:00 pm. Barb left us to be with her Lord, Saturday June 24, with her family by her side.
Born the third child to Lou Ella and Edward (Ted) Berney, Barb grew up amongst the Christian fellowship of the Springdale community. It was here she made her home with her husband Mike, and daughters Aimee and Holly. After earning her Bachelor’s in Home Economics at Oregon State University, she started her 25 plus-year teaching and counseling career, shared between David Douglas High, Floyd Light, and Sam Barlow High Schools.
Proceeded in death by her brother James Berney, she is survived by her other brother Ted, of Bremerton WA., and her two daughters. A daughter of God and Light, a sister to her co-workers and friends. Barb’s life-long support for those who sought the Word and gracious hospitality will leave a beautiful hole in our hearts.
